Personally, I think it would be more prestigious to have only custom made furniture by an eccentric furniture designer. As far as the Porsche of couches, it really depends on what STYLE of couch. Stickley appeals to Arts & Crafts lovers. Ethan Allen is made in China and should not be considered high end. Italian sofas are supposedly the creme de la creme but Italy is the second largest importer of illegal timber (behind China).

I would suggest that you check the websites of the furniture company you name – to see if the image works for you.
Consider describing the style and materials, rather than the maker. Fabrics like silk, damask and leather, woods such as mahogany or zebra and styles like Queen Ann, Georgeian, Federal, and Modern create images as well.
P.S. Ethan Allen is solidly middle class. Chippendale is not a brand, but a style.
