…no eye protection around the saw ? and the emergency escape if all the windows are fortified, how would you exit if a earthquake or fire twisted the only door ? also make sure your paint finish is healthy to be around long term.

  2. RandomConcepts says:

You should wear safety glasses when running a saw. I like those barred security windows.

  4. korn74 says:

what is the total cost of a fully completed home :-plumbing heating insulation and water and electricity?

  5. Studio102 says:

@freesouluniverse actually its time for you to wake up. This is not a new concept, as far as making homes out of shipping containers, its been done since the late 70′s, please look it up. The problem is that the US government has not found a mineral or resource that can be stolen from Haiti, so there for they will always be a 3rd world, poor country. Run for office if you want to make a difference and even that comes with its own strings. THE PRESIDENT DOES NOT RUN THE COUNTRY—HIS BOSS DOES—

  6. WizzleThump says:

I guess not all shipping containers have insulation.

  7. jake4569 says:

gimme a estimate on one that’s live able, with some windows to. If you dont mind.

  8. freesouluniverse says:

When will we learn, all of these so called poor Countries should start using contaniers instead of concrete if needed. It’s cheaper, safer & will not crumble during an EarthQuake. Maybe New Orleans/Haiti could use a few.. “knock knock Prez Obama/Haitian Govermment” time 2 wake up!

  9. vibeslord says:

they need some home like this in haiti now it will help them get back on thier feet! it would been a good start in times like this.

    @nuvolare1981

depends on where are you actual living. the high containers can only be used in a country, where bridges and tunnels support the extra height!
in europe most of the (railway)tunnels and bridges are too old and you would get stuck with them, so they can’t be used and transport to your constructions site must be done by a oversize hauling company.

    i measure 6ft 2inch/1,88m and i dropped containers.
i will build my home with wood, mud and straw. cheap, efficient and greeeeeen!

  11. jim08816cr says:

No, this is in Costa Rica. We do export!

  12. jannonymous says:

    is this in Israel?

  13. bvonmoss says:

Appreciate that containers could be made into something affordable and livable. Inspirational video series.

  14. jim08816cr says:

The height is 2.4m. This is the average height for the 20 ft x 8ft x8ft standard ISO shipping containers. They do have 9ft high ISO containers in the 40ft size. But the majority that are available on the used market are 8ft(2.4m) high.

  15. nuvolare1981 says:

Is this container 2,5mt height? Because I this it’s too low I think it wil be better have 3mt height, is this possible?
