Q&A: Please help! need help furnishing my house!! DESIGNERS?

Question by BabooBaboo: Please help! need help furnishing my house!! DESIGNERS?
What I meant to say was, there is no room for a couch to face the fireplace, with its back towards the kitchen, it will take way to much space and make it look tiny
We have recently moved into a small townhouse
I am having trouble figuring out where to put my couches, and what size couches or chairs I should purchase

My house is all open and on the main floor the Kitchen,Living room and Dining room are all open

It is impossible to face a couch towards the fire place and back wall because it will leave no room to access the dining area, also the wall next to the basment stairs is to small for a full sofa, maybe a love seat would just fit

I would love for my house to look stylish and modern but I am so bad at invisioning

If you have any ideas for me , I would appreciate it so much

Also if you can think of any decorating Ideas that you think may work for me please feel free to tell me!! small or big , paint color on the walls ect. the floor is honey oak hardwood

ANY DESIGNERS ?? PLEASE HELP !!!

Here is a picture I have drawn up of the layout

in view of your drawing, i’d use the back space, next to the window and patio door for a small, yet elegant dining set…..
i’d “float” a L shaped sofa and loveseat in the open floor space with the back facing the dining area…incorportating the two spaces with a sofa table, or possibly an open entertainment center (blocks) placed behind the couch…..this would serve as a floating wall, yet afford decorting items to draw the spaces (your theme) together….i’d also incorporate some dashing area rugs….and cordinate the rest of both spaces in the rich hues you find in the backdrop of the rugs…..two area size rugs that cordinate together bring harmony to the space, yet each space is it’s own….
Good luck!
feel free to e-mail me if you don’t understand what i said, or if you have any q’s!♥

  1. woahhh says:

get a modern love seat that is clean cut and no curves to make it look longer. next to the island, you can put another love seat for extra seating. so the shape of the love seats would be an L shape. where the window is would be a perfect place for 2 armchairs. in the middle, put a round coffee table so it wouldnt look to boxy
