You should have a degree in interior design. You need to know a lot about furnishings, appliances, paint, wall coverings, floor coverings, etc. Not only do you need to know about them, you need to know where to get them. You must also be able to read a blueprint, as well as know how to use AutoCAD to create your own prints. It’s a rewarding career if you have the imagination for it. Hope this helps.
