As an agent, I’ve had maybe two dozen claims through Lloyds. What you’re facing, is about right.
They are slow, slow, slow to pay. They usually use “outside adjusters” in your area, who have to communicate back and forth with them. The time difference, makes telephone calls VERY difficult to return in a timely manner.
Lloyds really SHOULD BE the insurer of last resort, only when you can’t find coverage elsewhere. Because it really DOES take 3 – 6 months – or longer – to get your claim settled.
Worse, they are NOT subject to your state insurance commissioner, so you really don’t have anyone to complain to, except the agent that sold you that policy.
